The beginning of this month I celebrated my 24th birthday and let me tell you it was the best birthday yet! I keep teasing by saying, "Birthdays only come once a year you have to stretch 'em out!!" This year my birthday was such a great way to recognize what caring, compassionate, and devoted family and friends that I have. I am BEYOND blessed!! I am awed by how God has brought different people into my life for different seasons. This year I celebrated with so many different friends: some are family that I consider friends, some are old friends, some are new friends, some are work friends, and some are church friends. No matter how God has weaved each one of them into my life He has put them there for a purpose and used them to show me His unfailing, remarkable love. I have included just a few pictures from some of my birthday celebrations but this doesn't even tip the iceberg of fun I had the days surrounding my birthday--I wish I had a picture of each special person for you to see!
It all started off with friends at Chewacla State Park. This is one of my favorite places to hang out in the summer time, especially with a big group. Almost 15 people showed up to hang out!! We threw the football, roamed around the waterfall and creek, ate some snacks, and did lots of laughing and talking. Then that night we all hung out and ate pizza, cake, and ice cream. My friends paid such close attention to all the details (Splenda tea, pineapple on my pizza, butter pecan ice cream, and a sweet card!) We also played some pretty competive Mad Gab and Catch Phrase. Good times... I really should work on my sportsmanship!! ha
Then the next afternoon I celebrated with my sweet family. We had cake (yes another one--that means TWO wishes!!) and homemade ice cream. It was so yummy! Bennett sat in my lap and we ate two BIG bowls together...such fun! Plus they gave me some pretty cool gifts too!
Then Monday night, my actual birthday, several friends took me to eat at Juliana Tokyo. This is my new favorite restaurant. Amy introduced me to it and I am hooked!! Great sushi--I recommend the "Super Crunch"!! The company and conversation were great, the food was yummy, and at the end they even picked up the bill!
WOW, what a weekend?! I am still letting it sink in how loved I felt after seeing so many people go out of their way to make "my day" a special one! Love y'all!!
